Digital signage is not a new way to promote a company or product, but it does involve using commercial grade flat screen displays along with some form of media player.

Indoor digital signs.
Indoor digital signs can either be wall mounted or floor standing and can either be network enabled or standalone, this means that the content (adverts) are loaded as follows:
Standalone has to be manually updated with a USB drive.
Network enabled is connected to a digital advertising network and a group of screens can be scheduled to update at a particular time and date months in advance.
These units are slim line with the advertising players built into the back of the screen and designed for indoor use with a life span of 50,000 hours.
Outdoor digital signage
Outdoor digital signage hardware solutions are more robust as they have to withstand the extreme weather conditions, from sub zero temperatures to over 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Designed to protect the commercial grade displays and the media players from vandalism as well as the weather.
These too can either be standalone or network enabled, with the networking units being the most popular. These are also available in touch screen to interactive with people for use in way finding as well as being single or double sided.
The outdoor kiosks are available with screens that are 1200 nits (cd/m2) bright so the screen can be seen in direct sunlight, no matter what country the kiosks are located in.
Electronic signage is dynamic and can greatly increase a brands advertising dollar, resulting in more sales with the right solution.
