There are several different names for digital signs, the first one is Out Of Home advertising, also referred to as OOH advertising and this is any advertising from static billboards through to printed billboard, anything that captures the attention of passers by, no matter if it’s in a train station, airport or ferry terminal. The second name is dynamic advertising, this is so named due to the unique dynamic content, using digital media such as flash content and html to create jaw dropping content. Digital signage is the third name and is the same as dynamic advertising.
The last name is outdoor digital signage, this is were digital content is played on a media player and is designed to have a huge impact and stop people in their tracks, as well as improving product awareness.
