LCD Enclosure Global have just completed a US restaurant chain deployment for outdoor menu displays, the chain wanted to entice potential customers into their restaurant with high quality images of the menu, the dispalys were Sony commercial panels, 42″ in size and located on external walls.
The LCD enclosure had to have both a cooling and heating element in it, as the temperature dropped from 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to -10 in the winter. They supplied a fan with an integral self regulating heater that was connected to a thermostat, so the internal temperature was set for the inside of the enclosure and no matter what the external weather it reamined constant.
For example if the temperature increased, the cooling fan would cut in and if the temperature dropped the heater would start to do it’s job, this provided the ultimate solution for year round protection.
